Annual Conference Is Breeding Ground for Energy Efficiency IdeasSeattle PI, May 16, 2014
In a conference center on the banks of the Columbia River, about 450 people gathered from around the Pacific Northwest to talk about energy efficiency. At Efficiency Exchange, the annual meeting of the Portland-based Northwest Energy Efficiency Alliance, no one needed to be persuaded.
Most attendees represented utilities from a four-state region, most of which operate under mandates to help their customers save energy. The balance of the audience was made up of program designers, policy wonks and a variety of consulting firms that specialize in energy efficiency marketing and implementation.
