New Portland policy would require commercial buildings to track and report energy usePortland Business Journal, December 19, 2014
Owners of commercial buildings in Portland over 20,000 square feet would be required to track and report their building’s energy use under a proposed policy the city is considering for this spring.
At a briefing this week, the Bureau of Planning and Sustainability introduced the proposal and set the stage for public information sessions about it in January. The proposed Energy Performance Reporting Policy would require commercial buildings to track energy performance using a free online tool called the Energy Star Portfolio Manager. That information would also need to be reported to the city on an annual basis.
